• Conduct art therapy sessions and provide guided self-expression experiences for clients.
• assess a client’s sensory, emotional or physical state.
• design art therapy sessions or programs to meet client’s goals or objectives.
• establish goals or objectives for art therapy sessions in consultation with clients or site administrators.
• facilitate group sessions in the use of art media, such as paint, clay, or yarn and interpret the artistic creations of clients to assess their functioning, needs, or progress.
• work in collaboration with other clinicians within the workplace.
• attend relevant professional development training to maintain currency of practice.
Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).
Master of Art Therapy which includes at least 750 hours of clinical placement.
