• radiation for and treatment of cancer patients
• review patient notes and other test results
• explain the treatment process to the client
• perform safety and risk activities to ensure the risk of performing radiation on the wrong area is minimised for example; draw marks on the patient's skin to indicate the area of treatment
• ensure all protective wear is utilised as standard procedures require
• review treatment plans and prepare equipment
• where appropriate, perform routine checks on equipment, and keep a record
• attend relevant professional development training to maintain currency of practice.
undergraduate degree in Medical Radiation Science (Nuclear Medicine) and undertake a clinical placement.
Registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with AHPRA.
